Speed breaker

A speed breaker (also known as a speed bump or speed hump) is a vertical traffic calming device designed to slow down motor vehicles to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists. They are primarily installed in high-risk zones like school premises, residential colonies, and hospital parking lots.

Types of Speed Breakers

• Rubber Speed Breakers: Constructed from heavy-duty recycled rubber, making them flexible enough to absorb impact and protect car suspensions. Brands like Scope Chemicals manufacture these with built-in reflective arrows for night visibility.
• ABS/PVC Bumps: Lightweight and durable options made from industrial-grade plastic or PVC.  Robust design these with alternating yellow and black segments to ensure clear visibility during both day and night.
• Rumble Strips: A series of small, micro-speed bumps placed together. Instead of forcing a hard stop, they create physical vibrations and noise to warn drivers that they are exceeding safe speed limits.
