DOOR FRAME METAL DETECTOR
Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs), also known as walk-through metal detectors, are essential checkpoint security systems used to scan individuals for concealed metallic weapons, knives, or contraband. Operating primarily on Pulse Induction (PI) technology, they generate brief magnetic fields that instantly detect both ferrous and non-ferrous metals passing through the gate.
Depending on your security infrastructure requirements—such as a corporate entryway, a public shopping mall, or a high-security transit hub—the type of DFMD and the number of zones you choose will vary.
Key Types of DFMDs
- Single Zone Detectors: Ideal for basic loss prevention or minor entry screening. It triggers a master alarm if metal is present anywhere on the body but does not pinpoint the exact location.
- Multi-Zone Detectors (2,6, 18, 33, or 45 Zones): Designed for high-traffic or high-security areas. Multiple overlapping sensor zones light up individual side LEDs to show exactly where the metal is hidden (e.g., ankle level, waist, or chest area).
